An oxygen safety valve, Oxygen Saver or Oxygen Safety Valve is an electronic device utilized in nuclear power plants to minimize the risk of accident explosion of the fuel injected into the plant. This device, an active oxygen safety valve (Oscillator) regulates the amount of oxygen that flows through an outlet pipe. A sudden increase in the amount of oxygen causes a chemical reaction leading to the gas separation and flaring of flammable gasses. A third type of safety valve is expansion valve. Its working pressure is directly proportional to the expansion value of the expanding gas. If there is an increase in the expansion then the valve will not open and close. However, if the expansion is very low then the valve will not open and close and hence will prevent the leakages.
There is a way to check whether the valve is working properly. You need to insert the end of the hose into the cylinder valve and let the expanding pressure come through the valve. If you notice air bubbles coming out you should remove the hose and reseal the valve. This is one of the most effective ways to test the pressure safety valve. It is easier to repair the valve than to replace it as it is made of steel. The other advantage of repairing the valve is that you can prevent any leaks before they happen.
