Safety valve is a sort of safety valve that automatically opens and close to release the fluid (gas or steam) at the outlet side of the safety valve; and when the pressure falls to the prescribed limit, to close the safety valve again. Safety valve is used for many industrial products such as for controlling water temperature, controlling gas temperature, and controlling the supply of gas or liquid from one circuit to another. It is designed to provide controlled leakage of fluids or gases, with the help of an electric motor. Generally, this safety valve is used as an extra safety valve so that if there is any leakage it could be controlled well before the actual leakage occurs. This is mainly done in the case of chemical plants and power generating stations.
There are many companies dealing in the supply of safety valves. There are some which manufacture small hand held safety devices suitable for hand-operated applications. These safety valves can also be operated electronically. Most of these safety devices operate on the basic principles of safety valve wherein the interior chamber of the device houses the insulating material, and the exterior ring blocks the interior air. The principle of safety valve is similar to that of thermal safety valves, but the difference lies in the manner in which the gases or liquids are supplied or released.
In the boiler service the safety valves are opened and closed with the help of a safety switch. Normally the safety valve in boiler keeps the hot water or the cold water in the reservoir compartment when it is required. But in case of a high pressure rise in the boiler water the water may need to be released to the outdoors through a safety valve in the boiler.

In such a case, the safety valves automatically close the water supply and the steam supply. It causes a reduction in both the hot and the cold water supply to your home appliances. There are many steam generators and heaters which use the principle of overload circuits. Therefore, it is very important to maintain the steam and water supply, and in case of any malfunction or emergency you must shut down the system.
The safety valve called the safety valve is used mainly in the food processing plants and the pharmaceuticals. The principle of safety valve used here is that the inside surface of this device is composed of spring, and if the spring inside breaks, then this breaks off and the pressure rises. Therefore, the device becomes defective and it causes an electric short circuit in the machines.

Therefore, there are two types of safety valves available in the market and they are – single-line and multi-line.
Single-line valves are the ones which are plugged into a manual vent system and the discharge happens through a common venting point. However, if any leakage occurs, then the liquid or the gaseous emissions escape out through a secondary discharge path. The main advantage of this system is that you don’t have to plug in a vent for its maintenance and also there is no restriction on the amount of fluid or gas that can be released. Moreover, these are very easy to install and the only drawback is that the liquid that escapes through the vent will have a high pressure.
On the other hand, multi-line safety valves are the best options for increasing safety levels in the industry. They are widely used in all kinds of plant and even in the lifecycle gas appliances like furnaces and boilers. Multi-line safety valves are designed in such a way that it allows the air flow at different locations and when any leakage occurs, the pressure will remain constant at all the locations.
